Our Saskatoon office is currently seeking a Senior Engineer, Electrical. Role & Responsibility
To provide leadership and support for Arrow’s electrical engineering team. With an outstanding business and leadership acumen, the Senior Engineer, Electrical has shared responsibility for the performance and success of our Electrical Engineering team, and firm, respectively. This position will report directly to the Principal or Vice President, work independently, and with minimal supervision, while working in collaboration with various colleagues and external partners and will actively pursue and influence the development of new business while offering client sectors. The Senior Engineer, Electrical will direct a team of Designers and CAD personnel in the successful execution of electrical engineering and design for our client’s ongoing and future projects. The work environment is of high volume, offering a range of project complexities and requires a high level of responsibility.
Duties
- Oversees the entire project life cycle, from preliminary services through project implementation
- Tracks project performance and metrics, while ensuring strong communication within and between project disciplines and client representatives
- Actively provides both technical and professional leadership to members of a multidisciplinary team
- Prepared electrical engineering estimates, budgets, and schedules considering technical issues and costs related to design
- Resources management responsibility, with a keen awareness of deadlines
- Provides reinforcement to the Chief Engineer, Electrical, regarding functional matters
- Successfully develops relationships with clients, industry affiliates, engineers, technologists, technicians, and construction personnel
- Manages all aspects associated with client relationship management and project service delivery
- Meets with clients regarding projects, progress reporting, and the resolution of issues, as required and applicable standards
- Develops standards related to our electrical engineering practice, ensuring best practices for project management and delivery
- Preparation of reports, proposals, and tender / bid submissions, budgets, project plans, and other supporting documentation, as required
Qualifications
Education: A university degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited Canadian or United States university or proof of equivalency. Membership and registration as a Professional Engineer (PEng) in accordance with the Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientist of Saskatchewan (APEGS). LEED Accreditation and sustainable design experience is considered an asset.
Experience: Ten to fifteen years of experience in consulting electrical design engineering for buildings or equivalent experience and responsibilities is required. A comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel, along with a strong technical understanding of AutoCAD would be considered an asset. Experience working within an enterprise resource managed environment is also considered an asset.
