Accountable to the Project Manager(s), Mechanical, the CAD Technician / Designer, Mechanical (Saskatoon)  will support the development and delivery of building mechanical projects during all stages of the project. The incumbent to this role is regarded as a technical resource to all aspects of project delivery and will participate in identifying and implementing solutions when appropriate.


This role encompasses, however, is not limited to the following duties:

  • Share responsibility for monitoring and ensuring quality control during construction
  • Participate in the production of drawings for building projects
  • Generate technical information with minimal guidance and supervision
  • Develop complete and final drawings from general conceptual information and design notes
  • Coordinate Arrow’s drawings with those of other disciplines on each project
  • Accountable to other team members and the Project Manager for drawing production



Certificate or diploma in a related mechanical technology or drafting technology program, or equivalent experience, from an accredited Canadian or United States technical college or institute, with an emphasis on facility design and/or building science.


One to two years of experience in technical design engineering for buildings or equivalent experience and responsibilities is required. A comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office and a minimum of two years of AutoCAD experience is required. Proficiency in the use of Revit would be considered an asset. Experience with various types of building and site electrical systems and the ability to conceptualize in three dimensions is also required.
