Project Summary

THE INTACT BUILDING

Intact Building required a major renovation and addition to an existing building, demonstrating the capabilities and knowledge of our team in renovation projects and sustainable design. Engineering services for this professional building included the design to achieve the US Green Building Council’s LEED® Gold Certification.

The multi-use building consists of 236,000 SF of offices, meeting rooms, and data centres with commercial / retail space, change rooms with showers and underground parking. The LEED® design included utilization of storm water for the washroom sanitary fixtures, low water consumption fixtures and equipment, environmentally friendly refrigerants, increased outdoor ventilation to ensure premium indoor air quality, and the application of multiple fan coil units to provide excellent zone control and thermal comfort.

As the project moved forward, the owner requested a change of design so that he could operate out of the entire building instead of just the top floor. With some redesigning, Arrow was able to utilize shared spaces to save the client money, and reduce the amount of change orders necessary.
