Project Summary

WESTCORP KELOWNA HOTEL

The Westcorp Kelowna Hotel is a landmark project for Kelowna’s waterfront, and is to be built on the site of the historic Willow Inn Hotel.  After a redesign driven by the owner, the downtown Kelowna hotel is being designed to include 174 hotel rooms and 49 privately-owned residential units, as well as a “sky restaurant” located on the 17th floor overlooking the lake, a conference centre, retail space, restaurants and a coffee shop.

Arrow’s Electrical team was awarded this project in 2017, and is working closely with the architectural team on the design of lighting systems for the interior and exterior of the building. Working within ASHRAE 90.1, sustainability is at front of mind for this project.

The Arrow team will spec high-end fixtures for feature areas such as the lobby and restaurant, and will design for spectacular exterior lighting including flood light designs, feature lighting for the waterfront area, and specialized lighting for the outdoor swimming pool and terrace area.

Particularly through the detailed design phase, our team will work closely with the owner to ensure that the conference rooms, sky lounge and banquet areas are as flexible as possible for future vendors.

With the decision to move the majority of parking underground, GCA Architecture was able to add additional floors to this project (initially it was intended to be 26 storeys), following in the steps of world-renowned hotels like the Fairmont Pacific Rim and the Shangri La, the Westcorp Kelowna Hotel is anticipated to become a go-to destination for visitors to Kelowna.
