Arrow Engineering was engaged in the project for their expertise in drainage and stormwater management on an industrial site.

Arrow’s involvement in the project included the installation of life stations and force mains that would assist in directing stormwater runoff from any trapped low areas or stormwater management ponds to outfall structures in railway ditches or creeks. In the execution of the project, Arrow utilized its expertise in design, project management, and construction and tender administration.

Whelp Creek in Alberta experienced modifications in its alignment, causing Alberta Environment to issue a contravention notice that required the landowner to re-align the creek to its original condition. Arrow Engineering was involved in the project for overseeing and executing the hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, the design, and the Water Act approval for the site to be restored back to compliance with Alberta Environment regulations.

Arrow Engineering has undertaken a number of projects for the Hamlet (Village) of Galahad including infrastructure assessments, street upgrading and upgrading of the water treatment plant. Through all the projects, Arrow has applied its expertise in water distribution and wastewater collection, water and sewage treatment analysis, and upgrading of water treatment plants. It also participated in the analysis, design, project management and the construction management of municipal infrastructure upgrades such as roadways, curbs, gutters and sidewalks, and drainage.

Arrow Engineering has abundant experience with stormwater drainage projects. Through the years, it has honed its expertise in project management, analysis, design, as well as tender and contract administration for drainage improvements along local roads. Projects include:

  • Lochinvar Road: Drainage improvements for 1.4 kilometres of county roads.
  • Willow Creek Road: Drainage improvements on 1.7 kilometres of local roads.
  • Ferrybank Low-Level Crossings:Removal of low-level crossing and re-establishment of creek bed.
  • Scott Drainage: Drainage rectification for a county road intersection and adjacent roadways.

Arrow Engineering has been involved with projects related to sanitary sewage lift stations and force mains utilizing its expertise in design, approvals and construction project management. Projects include:

  • Whitecourt Golf Course: Arrow was involved with the installation of a sanitary sewage lift station and force main to support a new clubhouse and future developments at the Whitecourt Golf and Country Club.
  • The Meadows: Arrow executed the installation of a sanitary sewage lift station and force main to support a 190-acre lot residential development.
  • EPCOR Rossdale: Arrow was involved with the installation of a sanitary lift station for a laboratory and an office building at EPCOR Rossdale in Edmonton.
  • Faust Harbour Estates: Arrow oversaw and executed the construction project management for a sanitary sewer lift station in the support of a residential development.

The Highway 14 Regional Water Services system uses water supply from Strathcona County that extends along Highway 14 to serve a total of almost 800 residential and business customers. The municipalities served include Beaver County, the town of Tofield, the village of Ryley, the village of Holden, and the town of Viking. The Commission also owns and operates the municipal water distribution systems in the villages of Ryley, Holden, Hamlet of Bruce, Roundhill and Kingman. Additionally, it also operates bulk water truck fills at Ryley, Holden and Bruce.

Arrow has been involved with the Commission providing engineering and drafting services for various projects including extension/system expansions, booster stations, truck fill stations, hydraulic network modelling, system analysis, and feasibility studies for system expansion.

Russel Metals purchased two 10-acre lots in Border Industrial Park with the intent of using the south lot for a new office and manufacturing facility and reserving the north lot for future expansions. Arrow’s expertise was retained for the provision of the overall rough grading for the 20 acres. The development of the south 10 acres was to accommodate the office/manufacturing facility, metals handling area, and a storage yard. The project required a NAV CANADA Land Use Proposal due to the site’s close proximity to the Edmonton International Airport.

Arrow was involved in the construction of a phased multi-family site which included rezoning, subdivision and road closure.

Vanier Woods, in the City of Red Deer, is a site that required the re-development of a residential acreage within an existing residential subdivision into a commercial site that supported the larger development area. Arrow was retained by the site’s architect to carry out the site survey (using Mobile Mapping technology,) and to prepare the designs for the site utility servicing, site grading and stormwater management to match the City of Red Deer’s standards.
