Project Summary

SAKAW TERRACE

Arrow’s Electrical team started work on Sakaw Terrace in June of 2016. Sakaw Terrace provides affordable housing space for Seniors’ in Edmonton’s Sakaw neighborhood (Millwoods).

Sakaw Terrace is a four-storey Seniors’ Home complete with a partial basement. Comprised of 72 independent living suites, 93 independent living apartments and some support spaces, Sakaw Terrace totals 155,000 SF of living and amenities space. Sakaw Terrace is being delivered via an Integrated Project Delivery process; IPD is a relatively new delivery method which requires an extremely high level of collaboration for the project team, resulting in a more positive shared outcome. The Arrow team is strongly oriented towards collaboration, and has attacked this project and its collaborative requirements with gusto.
Specific IPD requirements have included the implementation of a co-located work environment; Arrow team members were required in this space once or twice weekly, and made themselves available to the rest of the project team within that space.

Given their significant experience in the design of Seniors’ Facilities, Arrow’s Electrical team is able to approach their design with enhanced understanding of resident requirements, designing with the comfort of end users at front of mind.
